All six of ACTT’s full time courses are approved for overseas students. This is recognition of ACTT’s quality and standing within the performing arts industry and our reputation for providing excellence and consistency in course structure, delivery and measured learning outcomes. Having international students training with local students provides for an enriched cultural experience for both the students and teachers. International students are eligible to apply for an international student visa, stay in Australia for more than three months and work for up to 20 hours a week in term time and unlimited hours in holiday periods between terms. Overseas visitors to Australia may also enrol in short courses that are less than three months duration. International students are also eligible to enrol in the one year part time CORE if they already hold a student visa for that time period. International students should email info@actt.edu.au so the college can assist them with their application, visa and other needs.

Easy Payment Options

Interational Student Visa holders based in Australia and with an Australian Bank Account, who enroll on full-time courses, can take advantage of ACTT’s Easy Pay options. This enables people to pay by installment, rather than having to pay the entire course fees up-front. Call 02 9213 4500 to discuss this possibility with our friendly staff.

There are specific requirements set down that prospective overseas students need to fulfill. Full details here: overseas entry requirements

'I came over for the CORE from England, and it has been so worth it! Studying and living in another country is excellent for your personal development, whether you stay for a short period of six to twelve months, or for an extended three year period. Australian acting courses have a stronger vocational style and a more modern approach to performance than courses in the UK or USA, for example. For both English speaking students, and students with English as their second language, Australia is recognised as an exciting, safe and inexpensive place to study and gain internationally recognised qualifications. Acting is after all an international profession. The student visa regulations allow students to work up to 20 hours a week, so that you can earn enough to live and enjoy your time in Australia.

'I came all the way from Denmark and I’ve got to say the CORE is awesome, every day is a challenge and it really changes your life as an actor and a person.'
Benjamin Otzen – Denmark

Why Study in Sydney?

Sydney has been voted “The Friendliest City in the World“ three times and is a truly multicultural city. The city is full of cinemas, theatres, bars, nightclubs and restaurants offering quality food from every corner of the world. A population of 5 million makes it the biggest, as well as the liveliest, city in Australia . Sydney boasts the most beautiful harbour in the world and the twentieth century’s most important building: the Sydney Opera House.

Sydney is truly a young person’s city, with the largest number of local and international students studying in Australia. There is a wide range of student accommodation and entertainment places so visitors quickly find new friends and become involved. For acting students there are opportunities to become involved in the performing arts, both by enjoying performances and tapping into career opportunities.
'I chose to do the CORE to feed my passion for acting, since I wanted to learn and grow as an actor. Leaving my country and coming to Australia to do the CORE proved to be the right decision for me. I grew personally and my acting improved and I found that acting is what I ultimately want to do to be happy.'
Reece Vella – Malta

Most international students who wish to study at ACTT contact us directly and are able to make the necessary arrangements without assistance from an agent. However for those seeking assistance, working with an Education Agent can help sort through the various application and visa issues that apply. An Education Agent will not add to the cost of the tuition fees payable, and may make the process easier. At present ACTT has formal arrangements in place with the following agents:
