Since 1982 The Old ‘Railway Union Hall’ at 199 Cleveland Street has seen the development of some cutting edge artistic endeavors under the auspices of The Performance Space. Now this theatre complex is evolving, in the hands of the artistic council of Australia’s leading independent College for the Performing Arts, the Actors College of Theatre & Television (ACTT).

The ACTT council, with years of passionate experience in independent and professional theatre (and continually buoyed by the energy of up-and-coming students singing down hallways!), have been in love with this space from the moment they entered. Historic, unique, surprising, diverse, raw and ready – this is a complex that can be used for all arts practices from early development, to rehearsals, into stimulating performance.

The theatre complex is situated on one of the main throbbing arteries connecting East and West Sydney, smack-bang in the centre of a growing hub for live art, food and culture – overlooking the gentle green of Prince Alfred Park. So on your way along Cleveland Street, stop off, drop in and dream with us… Who knows what you’ll discover?
