Youth Acting & Film-making 2 Day Holiday Workshop

Youth Acting

Working in small groups, the course focuses on fun, play and storytelling to free the imagination and develop spontaneity and confidence. So, whether you have no acting experience or you have already attended a basic course, or just want to build on school drama this could be the right course for you.

Youth Film-making
Bring your camera-phones, bloggies, flips, camcorders or digital cameras. You will learn how to produce great short video clips and get an in-depth grounding in how to start making your own short films.You will learn how to use all kinds of ideas and objects as possible source materials for a very unique pieces of theatre or film and find out about genre, collaboration, storyboards, scripting, camera angles, shooting, and editing.

What you will learn

To improvise, act, tell stories and stretch your imagination.
To make short video pieces from concept to screen.
To create amazing performance pieces out of nothing.

It is also the perfect way to find out more about the ACTivate one-year course, which many school-leavers take as a way to learn new skills and experiences during their ‘gap’ year.

ACTT has a proud history of preparing talented young people to pursue successful artistic and creative futures. We have been running ACTivate, our youth program for the last fifteen years and our teaching staff are experienced, talented and lots of fun to work with.

This year we have revamped all our youth courses to include directing and film-making for YouTube, using camera phones and other handheld cameras. The feedback from our students is amazing. Just look at the video at the top of this page to get a flavour of the experience.
