When You Want To Go DEEPER…
By popular demand, CORE PLUS is back in 2010. A progressive addition to ACTT’s excellent courses, CORE PLUS is specifically designed for students who have completed The CORE at ACTT or have undertaken some similar level of training elsewhere and now want to explore deeper emotional, physical and vocal connections to their performance. It provides an extended period of instrument work covering acting, voice and movement training and culminates in the production of a play.
Term 1: Instrument work
Instrumental term to build and gain a deeper level of physical and impulse work. The approach will rely on deepening through repetition and building depth through further relaxation, focus and sense memory work. The shape of the course allows the training to go deeper than is possible in The CORE to reveal more.
Term 2: Craft - Scene work
Scene texts are used as a basis to explore methodologies of script analysis. Approaches will incorporate the work of Morris, Benedetti, Stanislavski and Michael Chekhov. These are practical approaches and the work will open up the possibilities of the scenes and stimulate the imagination allowing for greater moment to moment to work on stage. An in-house performance will test the approaches and create “live” performance. Voice and movement work will build and connect the work to text.
Term 3: Technique - Accent/monologue voice work
The introduction of specific voice work to learn phonetics and apply them to a short monologue which is presented during term in a mock audition. The accent and monologue will be from the American repertoire. By the end of term, the final play/ project will be cast
Term 4: Performance
During this term, the group rehearses a short play for performance in the final week. The rehearsal process draws upon the previous work and develops skill in building performance over a period and creating strong emotional, physical and imaginative connection to the text and the story being told.

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of ACTT’s The CORE or an acting course with an equivalent level of training. if you are unsure of the level required, include full details of your experience and training on the aplication form and it will be discussed with you.
